Memorial Day Parade & Program - Monday, May 27, 2019

Please join us as we pay tribute to military personnel who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom on Monday, May 27, 2019.
The City of Florence memorializes and decorates American service personnel who fought to defend our country in past and present wars with a parade and program.  The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. at Boone County High School parking lot at 7056 Burlington Pike and ends at the Boone County Veterans Memorial, 8020 Veterans Memorial Dr, Florence, KY located on the campus of the Florence Government Center, 8100 Ewing Boulevard, Florence.  We encourage floats in the parade so be creative to win an award for the "Most Patriotic Float".   We also encourage  participants to ride a bike in the parade for National Bike Month and receive an incentive.  Parade registration forms are available at the Florence Government Center or on the City's website at

The Memorial Day Program begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Boone County Veterans Memorial.  There will be music performed by the Florence Community Band & Chorus along with a 21-gun salute by the Florence Police Honor Guard.  Military personnel will also receive recognition.

In addition to our parade and program, we will also have on display in the lobby of the Government Center the Kelly Elementary School's 'Heroes Don't Wear Capes, They Wear Dog Tags' traveling memorial wall, and military memorabilia.
