In Loving Memory of Councilmember David A. Osborne
01/15/2025
The City of Florence is deeply saddened to announce the passing of longtime Councilmember David A. Osborne on January 10, 2025, at the age of 84.
David devoted nearly 50 years of his life to serving Florence, helping shape the city’s growth and character from its small-town beginnings to the community we are today. His legacy of leadership and service is woven into the fabric of Florence, and his contributions will never be forgotten.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, David also retired from the Boone County Fiscal Court and was a 50+ year member of the Masonic Lodge. Even in retirement, he remained active in the community, working part-time as a Public Safety Assistant at CVG Airport.
David’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. As a devoted member of First Church of Christ, which began in the Florence Historic Main Street Firehouse basement in the 1960s, he lived out his values of kindness, generosity, and service every day. We take comfort knowing he is now rejoicing in his eternal home, having heard the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
David was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Pamela; his daughter, Kelli Ann Osborne (Amy Ford); his son, Kevin Osborne (Anna); and his cherished granddaughters, Kate and Caroline Osborne. He will also be dearly missed by his nephews, extended family, and countless friends and colleagues.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at First Church of Christ, 6080 Camp Ernst Road, Burlington, KY 41005, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to First Church of Christ or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be shared at www.stithfuneralhome.com.
The City of Florence has lost a true pillar of the community, but David’s legacy will live on in the city he so dearly loved and the many lives he touched. His warmth, smile, and unwavering dedication to Florence will forever be remembered. Rest in peace, Councilmember Osborne.
