Parks and Recreation

The City of Florence Park system consist of 6 developed parks, 2 undeveloped parks, the Florence Family Aquatic Center, Florence/Boone County Skate Park, and the World of Golf complex. These facilities encompass approximately 169 acres. The parks consist of 5 shelters that can be reserved the Evelyn Kalb Gathering House, and the Nature Park Event Center that can be rented for parties or weddings.

The Public Services Department provides capital improvement project management, contract management, master planning, event planning and needs assessments. Duties performed by department personnel include park maintenance, park inspections, playground inspections, equipment repairs, event planning and management, facility management and building repairs.

The Public Services Department receives funding from the City’s General Fund and Capital Improvement Fund.
