Knox Box Program

In order to provide a faster and more secure service to our community, Florence Fire/EMS has adopted the Knox Rapid Access System.  The Knox Rapid Access System is a secure emergency access program developed for property owners and fire departments.  When an emergency arises, Knox Rapid Access System allows immediate entry into buildings and properties without forced entry damage or delay.

Property owners store entrance keys or access cards in highly secure Knox key boxes.  These boxes are mounted in a convenient location on their property, usually near the main entrance.  Each key box, purchased by property owners, is keyed to a single master key controlled by the Florence Fire/EMS only.  Knox master keys are securely stored in responding emergency vehicles.  Fire department personnel simply enter their combination code and a Knox master key is released for service.

Increased property damage and even total loss is a threat when property is not readily accessible.  Knox boxes are recommended for all commercial properties.  Knox boxes are specified by the Florence Fire/EMS, but are purchased by the property owner directly from GE Security Company.

To obtain a Knox Box, please go to www.knoxbox.com.  A product can be selected and Florence Fire/EMS will be selected as the local fire/department/agency.  Please select the type of key box desired, make sure it will be large enough to fit all needed keys or entry cards/fobs.  Submit payment via credit card and select your shipping location.  Once the Knox Box is installed contact Florence Fire/EMS at 859-647-5660 to secure your entry keys/fobs.
