Veterans Commissioners

 

Beverly Reno is on the Board of Directors. She retired from nursing after 60 years in the profession. Beverly worked at St. Elizabeth, Booth, and St. Luke Hospitals. She retired as a Professor Emeritus from NKU Nursing Department. Beverly is a former First Lieutenant Army Nurse during the Bay of Pig conflict. She served at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. She has lived in Florence, Ky since 1972. She came to Kentucky with her husband Jack Reno. Her community service was serving on the board of Woodspoint Nursing Home, Salvation Army Board for Seniors, and NKADD district. She did research in utilizing Pet Therapy in Nursing Homes to reduce depression in the elderly. Beverly is widowed and has three children, five grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is very active in sports with her great grand children and is an ardent fan of the Big Blue Nation. She is active in Hopeful Lutheran Church, keeping the Little Pantry stocked and doing Bible study at a Nursing Home. She remains active in community with membership in New Friends, plays golf, and attends the BCRP meetings. She loves being with family and friends.

 

Glenn Laws has served on the Florence Veterans Commission since its inception in 2024. He is a life long resident of Northern Kentucky and currently resides in Florence with his wife and two children. Glenn enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve in 2003, Commissioned in 2006 through the Xavier University ROTC program, and after 20+ years proudly still serves in the reserve component. He has deployed twice to East Africa serving at Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa in support of the Global War on Terror. His other notable assignments include Commander of 10th PSYOP BN, time on the Joint Staff, and numerous other command and staff positions. Glenn has spent the entirety of his civilian career in public service at the local and federal levels, and is currently working for the U.S. Department of Treasury. He holds a Master’s in Public Administration and B.A. in Political Science both from Northern Kentucky University. He is thrilled to serve the veteran population of Florence, KY through his work on this commission.

 

Stacy A Deason serves as the Chairperson for the City of Florence Veterans Commission. Stacy has lived in Florence Ky for most of his life. He served in the US Navy on board the Spruance class destroyer USS Briscoe DD977 out of Norfolk Va. Stacy has been married to his wife Amy for 35 years. They have 2 sons Jake and Jared and a daughter in law Rebecca and two grandsons Rhett and Evan. Stacy has been employed by Duke Energy for 23 years. He started out as a utility line worker from there was the supervisor of the Erlanger Operations Center and is currently holding the position of Environmental Health and Safety Consultant. Stacy also volunteered in the Boone County Peewee Football league for 22 years at serving 6 years as president, he also has volunteered with First Church of Christ – Whiz Kids program and City Gospel Mission as a Mentor.

Terry Vannarsdale is on the Board of Directors and is also the Director of Nominations/Processing for KVHOF. Terry is a lifelong resident of KY, graduating from Holmes High School. He is an Army veteran of 6-1/2 years having served in Vietnam achieving the rank of Sergeant.

Terry’s military awards include: Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation w/Palm and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/Device(1960). Terry retired from the Florence KY Police Dept. after 20 years. Terry held positions on the board of directors with 4 organizations here in KY. After retiring from the police department Terry worked as a security manager for Coca-Cola . Terry and his wife Deborah began working with the KVHOF as volunteers from its beginning and continue to provide support for the organization.
