Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event - November 1, 2025

The annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event returns on November 1, giving Northern Kentucky residents an opportunity to safely and responsibly dispose of hazardous household materials—completely free of charge.
Proper disposal of hazardous items keeps our community safe, protects local waterways, and prevents harmful materials from entering landfills. Last year, nearly 3,000 vehicles participated in this event, so please expect some wait time upon arrival.
Accepted Items
Residents may drop off the following materials for safe disposal or recycling:
- Aerosol cans
- Antifreeze
- Batteries (all types)
- Corrosives and flammables
- Electronics (any item that plugs in or uses a battery)
- Ink and toner cartridges
- Light bulbs
- Oil and car fluids
- Oil-based paint (limit 10 containers)
- Pesticides
- Tanks and cylinders
- Televisions (limit 2 per vehicle)
Items Not Accepted
The following materials cannot be accepted at this event:
- Appliances
- Ammunition or explosives
- Fertilizer
- Latex paint
- Medications or pharmaceuticals
- Radioactive items
Important Details
- You must complete a registration form prior to the event. Download your registration form here.
- Participants must be residents of Boone, Kenton, or Campbell County.
- Businesses are not eligible to participate.
- Due to the large turnout, please plan for extended wait times.
