Annual Veterans Day Program & Honor Run Half Marathon
11/04/2021
The City of Florence recognizes and expresses gratitude to all the men and women who have served in the armed forces for their commitment to our country. The Annual Veterans Day Program will be held on Sunday, November 14, 2021 beginning at 2:00 p.m. The event is hosted on the campus of the Florence Government Center where attendees can view the Veterans Memorial of Boone County, join a program filled with patriotic music provided by the Florence Community Band and Chorus, a meet and greet with the city’s adopted troop the ‘Renegades’, and refreshments following the program.
Each year the Veterans Day activities begin with the ‘Renegades’ running in the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Honor Run Half Marathon which supports the Honor Flight participants. The proceeds from the Honor Run benefits Honor Flight Tri-State by helping send local veterans who have served our nation in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam to Washington DC to visit their memorials. The proceeds also go to Habitat for Humanity of Cincinnati to help support a local veteran’s home repair.
