Christmas Tree Lighting

11/21/2024

The City of Florence kicks off the holiday season at our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Florence Government Center, 8100 Ewing Blvd., Florence, Kentucky. This free, family-friendly event will begin at 5:00 p.m., featuring a spectacular tree lighting ceremony that will conclude at 7:00 p.m.

Families can enjoy an evening of festive activities, including free photos with Santa, story time with Mrs. Claus, children’s crafts along with writing letters to Santa, face painting, a train display and balloon art. The beautifully lit outdoor displays created by the Public Services Department will add a touch of holiday magic as the Florence Community Band fills the air with seasonal music. Guests can also warm up with complimentary popcorn and hot cocoa.

The event will also feature the announcement of the Christmas Card Contest winners. Children in grades 1-8 are invited to submit their artistic creations by November 26 to the Administration Department, 8100 Ewing Blvd., Florence, Kentucky. All cards received will be shared with seniors in the community and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, as well as a special Mayor’s Choice award. Mayor Aubuchon will recognize the winners during the celebration.

The evening will conclude with Mayor Aubuchon lighting the Christmas tree, accompanied by the Florence Community Band playing your favorite holiday tunes. Do not miss this opportunity to be part of Florence's most cherished holiday tradition.
