City of Florence Offers Safe Sitter® Essentials Courses This August and October

The City of Florence is excited to offer the nationally recognized Safe Sitter® Essentials Course to students in grades 6 through 8, with upcoming sessions scheduled for August 7 and October 13, 2025. This engaging, hands-on program teaches young teens the skills they need to become confident, responsible babysitters and prepares them to handle real-life situations with care and maturity.
Each session will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Kalb Gathering House, located at 7200 Nature Park Drive in Florence. The cost is $40 per participant, which includes a Safe Sitter® kit filled with valuable resources to help students succeed.
The Safe Sitter® Essentials Course covers a range of topics, including:

Safety and injury prevention

Child development and behavior management

Business skills for babysitting

First aid basics
Please note: CPR training is not included in this course.
