City of Florence Public Services Department Launches 2025 Leaf Collection Program

The City of Florence Public Services Department is once again preparing for its annual Leaf Collection Program, scheduled from October 20 through December 18, 2025.
Last year’s program collected an impressive 141 tons of leaves, more than 25,000 cubic feet, across 81 loads. All collected material was composted or repurposed as fertilizer, supporting the City’s environmental and sustainability goals.

To ensure efficient service, residents should:
• Rake leaves into a row behind the curb (no more than four feet back).
• Keep leaves free from debris such as branches, plants, or trash.
• Have leaves ready by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled pickup day.
Signs will be placed at subdivision and street entrances one week prior to scheduled pickups as reminders. Those interested in receiving composted leaves may contact the Public Services Department at (859) 647-5416.
