The City of Florence Veterans Commission, in partnership with Warriors Journey Home and Florence Christian Church, is proud to host a Veterans Resource Fair on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Florence Government Center, 8100 Ewing Blvd., Florence, Kentucky 41042. This free event is open to veterans, active-duty military members, and their families, providing them with valuable resources and information.
Agenda for the Open House:
Here.Is.Better. – a documentary film with unprecedented access inside trauma therapy sessions of men and women veterans battling posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). - Community Room A: First showing 11:00 am; second showing 12:45 pm
Homewatch Caregivers of Northern Kentucky – Homewatch Caregivers will be giving a presentation covering the type of services they provide in the home healthcare space particularly in regards to veterans in conjunction with the Veterans Administration - Community Room C: 10:30 am
Warriors Journey Home – WJH will be discussing their mission regarding moral injury healing and soul repair during this information session that includes a video “Coming Home” and a Q&A portion. - Community Room C: 11:00 am
Boone County Veterans Memorial Project – City staff will be presenting on the current renovation project of the Boone County Veterans Memorial with a Q&A session. - Community Room C: 12:00 pm
PurePost – Purepost will be presenting on the first cloud-based software that fully translates a wide range of previous work experience - military or civilian - into transferable hard, soft, and technical skills and easy-to-understand job kits. Created by some of the nation’s leading experts in career transition for members of the military community and free for veterans to use. - Community Room C: 1:00 pm
Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame – KVHOF will have a panel discussion talking about the Hall of Fame, what is it, how do they conduct their induction ceremony, and how to sponsor a potential candidate. - Council Chambers: 11:00 am
Florence Veterans Commission – The Veterans Commission is a new City commission not yet a year old. The Commission will be holding a panel discussion going over their creation, their areas of responsibility, and current and future objectives. - Council Chambers: 1:00 pm
All these organizations will be present during the event at their own booths, as well as many other organizations such as the Patriot Guard Riders, Belmont Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Easterseals Redwood Military & Veteran Services, Cincinnati Vet Center, Kentucky Department of Veteran Affairs, Fresh Start Shower Ministry, and NKY Service Members Veterans Suicide Coalition. All will be available to talk and answer questions.
Even if you are not in need of any services, please come out to show support for our veterans and their family members, the knowledge you gain may help you be able to help someone else help themselves.
